Summer Special – Advanced Course Includes Nitrox Certification

It’s summer time in Akumal and there is no better place in the world to complete your PADI certified scuba courses. Forget pool courses inside of a building and doing your open water dive in a murky lake! We offer many courses in the clear turquoise and warm waters of the Caribbean. Diving in Akumal allows you to spend the morning diving while you can visit the local Mayan Ruins when you are done.

The Resort Course allows you to complete a few modules in the morning and dive in the afternoon. This certification enables you to dive throughout your vacation. You have the opportunity to convert the certification to PADI Scuba Diver and complete your last module in a PADI center at home to become a PADI certified diver. You can explore our many dive certification courses here.

We offer a Refresher Course if it has been awhile since your last dive. In addition to our Nitrox and Advanced Courses, we are excited to announce our new Technical Diving courses for serious divers who want to learn about Trimix, Side Mount and Cave Diving. Click here for more information about our Technical Diving Courses.

During the entire Summer of 2019 we have a special that includes Free Nitrox Certification when you complete the Advanced PADI course with us.

Why should you get Nitrox certified? As you dive and breathe from normal tanks, the water pressure causes nitrogen to dissolve into your bloodstream. The higher the pressure or deeper you go, the more nitrogen buildup you get. This is why divers need to ‘de gas’ after a dive before diving again.

A diver on air at 100 feet reaches his or her no-decompression limit and must come up after 25 minutes. At 60 feet, the diver’s maximum time would be one hour. Breathing Nitrox replaces nitrogen with extra oxygen. When you dive at 100 feet with 36% Nitrox, it would be like diving at 80 feet so the bottom time is extended.

Our PADI Advanced Certification includes a Deep Dive, Compass Dive, two dives of Peak Performance Buoyancy and then you can choose two from any of the following: Night Dive, Drift Dive or Multilevel Dive.

You receive two certifications: the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and the Peak Performance Buoyancy Diver. The course includes all the equipment that you need, two certification cards and a little refresher in the pool!

With our PADI Advanced Certification we are currently including PADI Nitrox certification. This course can be completed with your Advanced dives and includes full equipment on a maximum of 40% of oxygen to a maximum depth of 110 feet/ 30 meters.
