The Resort Course is the fastest, easiest and safest way for the beginning diver to discover the underwater world of diving. Our program takes only 3 hours and includes full equipment, pool sessions where you can gain confidence using Padi skills, after which you will enjoy a beautiful dive on our reef at a maximum depth of 35 feet. The Resort Course is a great way to experience scuba diving and we will credit the instruction toward the Padi certification if you decide to become a certified diver. This designation will allow you to dive under supervision for 15 days in our diving center.

The Padi Scuba Diver Course offers more than just a resort designation. It includes the instruction of modules 1, 2 and 3 of the Padi Open Water Course and is designed for those who have a limited amount of time and want to begin certification. After instruction and diving with us, you may then continue modules 4 and 5 of the Padi Open Water Course in any other location to become an Open Water Diver. It takes 1-1/2 days and includes full equipment, pool sessions to practice with all Padi skills, the work book you need to learn to dive, and two ocean dives under the supervision of a Padi Instructor.
The Open Water Course is the full training which allows you to plan a dive and to dive without professional super vision. It takes 3-1/2 days and includes full equipment, pool sessions to practice with all of the Padi skills, the work book you need to learn how to dive, and four ocean dives under the supervision of a Padi Instructor.
The Referral Course is the 4 Open Water dives required in your certification. The Akumal Dive Center is a perfect location to continue in your instruction because of the ideal diving conditions. Our underwater school is only 5 minutes by boat from the dive center, or the course can also be taken from a shore dive or in the cool freshwater of our cenotes. It takes 2 days and includes full equipment and 4 ocean dives under the supervision of a Padi Instructor.
The Special Advanced Open Water Course includes 6 dives and 2 certifications.
The training includes a Deep Dive, Compass Dive, two dives of Peak Performance Buoyancy and then you can choose two from any of the following: Night Dive, Drift Dive or Multilevel Dive! The two certifications are the Padi Advanced Open Water Diver and the Peak Performance Buoyancy Diver. The course includes all the equipment that you need, two certification cards and a little refresher in the pool!
The Refresher Course takes half a day and covers a quick review of the most important skills. It includes full equipment, a pool session practicing open water skills and a dive under the supervision of an instructor on our beautiful reef.
The Bubble Maker is a fun program designed for children ages 8 to 9 years old. "When you learn to dive you dream in color!" Under the careful instruction and supervision of our Padi instuctor, children explore scuba equipment and underwater breathing in the beautiful Akumal Bay.
The Nitrox Diver Course is designed for those who would like to stay longer underwater using enriched air.. This course takes 1-1/2 days and includes full equipment, two ocean dives on a maximum of 40% of oxygen to a maximum depth of 110 feet/ 30 meters. The course is limited to no decompression diving.
We also offer additional Padi Certification Instruction, which includes First Response, Rescue Diver, Master Diver, Dive Master and other specialty courses.
Akumal Dive Center offers three Dive Trips per day at 9:30 / 11:30 / 2:30. Conveniently located in the heart of Akumal Bay, we offer more than 20 dive sites, only minutes away by boat or beach dives just steps away from our shop. Cenote dives and night dives are available as well. Let us show you our spectacular reef!
